Our Mission

The mission of the Afrikan Village Universal Institute is to educate and empower African American children and youth to see themselves, and ultimately to become, productive citizens of their communities, their country, and the world.

Reading Development

Building literacy skills to unlock the power of knowledge and imagination.

Group & Individual Counseling

Providing a safe, supportive space where children and families can share, heal, and grow together through guided conversations and activities.

Cultural Awareness

Teaching youth to embrace their heritage and recognize their value.

Mentorship

Connecting youth with compassionate leaders for guidance and growth.

Providing children with educational resources, tutoring, mentoring, and encouragement to help them succeed academically.

Mental & Emotional Wellness Support

Providing professional, compassionate, and confidential therapeutic support and counseling for children and families who are willing to receive assistance.

Community Healing & Family Support

Supporting families experiencing loss, trauma, and hardship by providing compassion, resources, and community connection.

Fatherhood & Mentorship Initiative

When fathers are taken away from their children, other caring and loving fathers must stand up and reach out to those children to love and support them moving forward.

Afrikan Village Institute creates and provides Afrikan Wreaths to families who have lost loved ones as a symbol of love, respect, and community support. These beautiful creations offer a tangible way for our community to express its deepest compassion during times of grief.
